Assistive Technology

Assistive technology is any device, piece of equipment or product that makes it easier for someone to live more independently and safely. This includes at work, in school, in the community, and during play. Assistive technology allows individuals with a wide range of abilities meaningful access to education, employment, activities of daily living, leisure, and recreation.

The ALLTECH Demonstration & Device Loan Program receives partial funding through Maine CITE. Maine CITE helps make assistive and universally-designed technology more available to Maine consumers and is a statewide program administered by the Department of Education.

ALLTECH offers a catalogue of AT devices to borrow with no purchase necessary. Consumers can trial any available device for three-week durations before purchasing on their own. All Maine residents can utilize this program at no cost.
